At Beyond Dreams Kyoto’s design lab, t.h.e. Design House, we now offer LEGACY FURNITURE’s ultra luxurious one-of-a-kind 21st Century Lacquer custom furniture, furnishings and interior design materials crafted at a stunning level and scale as never before.
Our implementation partners at KYORAKU KOUGEI source and procure extremely unusual and sometimes rare artistic and often difficult to find interior design materials, marrying them with centuries old traditional Japanese lacquer craft techniques that have been developed far beyond what has ever been possible before.
At t.h.e. Design House’s LEGACY FURNITURE, we’re able to create truly ‘graceful elegance’ in our 21st Century Lacquer designs incorporating traditional Japanese decorative arts that were never possible in application to most lacquer furniture, furnishings and many interior design elements and materials due to their fragile nature and unpredictable behavior over time.
This is now possible strictly because of Beyond Dreams Kyoto’s exclusive partnership with Kyoto’s esteemed and storied master lacquer studios KYORAKU KOUGEI and their unparalleled skill and craftsmanship in the art of ‘kinpaku’ and ‘ginpaku’ gold and silver leaf or foil and thread artistry incorporated in our proprietary 21st Century Lacquer technology and its groundbreaking durability and extraordinary sustainability.

From the storied Kimono culture of Kyoto, at Beyond Dreams Kyoto we design suits and abaya from the finest silk kimono fabric in Japan. Our design lab, t.h.e. Design House, is dedicated to innovative custom design in our Beyond Dreams Kyoto Haute Couture firmly grounded in centuries of tradition. With a deep respect for ‘the wisdom of the ages’, we offer an extraordinary selection of kimono fabric made of the finest silk in the world. Additionally, we also offer the opportunity to personally select color, type and pattern, and have fabric uniquely woven to order.
Beyond Dreams Kyoto Haute Couture are truly unique treasures to be cherished for a lifetime, our suits are expertly tailored and built by the two most esteemed world renowned Japanese tailors in Tokyo. And our one of a kind abaya are lovingly created by dressmakers prized in Japan for their sartorial elegance.
